     Looking for something unique to add to your wine collection? The Broken Barrel Furniture Co. creates one-of-a-kind, handcrafted furniture from retired oak barrels locally-obtained from Kelowna, Oliver and Naramata Bench wineries. Designed and built by Penticton's Bob Taylor, Corina Messerschmidt and Johanna Nichols, Broken Barrel's pieces currently include solid oak tasting tables, sofa tables, tabletop wineracks, free-standing wine racks, stave benches, stools, adirondack chairs, and hangers for kitchenware and clothing.

     All pieces are made one-at-a-time and are crafted from aged oak, with deep red wine natural coloring on one half of all the pieces. With gorgeous natural wood finish beauty, elegant styling and artful craftsmanship, each piece will proudly justify its space in any area of your home or shop. We take pride in making each piece into a unique, stand-alone piece of furniture art.

     We love what we do... so it's all made by our own hands, and we have the splinters to prove it! We travel to local wineries to select our barrels, then we disassemble them ourselves, reshape, refinish, and reassemble the pieces into whatever creations you want to see.
     This is a family and friend organization, we involve anyone who loves to spend time working with wood and furniture. And we think the finished creations reflect that commitment and enjoyment.
     All items are handmade in Penticton, B.C. from the beautiful sculptural forms of oak barrels. "Each one is unique and really must be seen in person," Bob says, pointing out that the furniture would be the perfect addition to wine-country bed-and-breakfasts, inns, shops, or any home that wants a unique piece of 'wine-inspired' furniture.
